I built this list during my first year on keto when I was working full time and could not figure out how to eat breakfast without either skipping it entirely or grabbing something convenient but not-so-great.

Below, I share 11 quick & easy keto breakfast ideas, all under 5 minutes and all under 8 net carbs. These aren't elaborate recipes. I made these at 7am when I wasn't awake yet or had zero energy like Bulletproof coffee, 3 ingredient pancakes, flaxseed muffin in a mug, or a chocolate protein shake. Most of them I still rotate through every week. Whether you're running short on time or just have no energy to cook, you're sure to find some breakfast ideas that'll go with your morning routine.

Can I make these keto breakfasts ahead of time?

Most of these are designed to be made fresh in under 5 minutes, but a few work well for prep. The pancakes and waffles can be made in batches and refrigerated for up to 4 days. The keto cereal dry mix can be prepped in bulk and stored in a jar - just add milk and cream when you're ready to eat.

How many calories are in these keto breakfasts?

Calorie counts vary depending on exact brands and portions, but most of these fall between 200-400 calories. The highest calorie options are bulletproof coffee and the elegant breakfast due to fat content. For exact numbers, Cronometer is the most accurate macro tracker for keto.

Are these good keto breakfasts for beginners?

Yes, this list was built with beginners in mind. Everything uses simple, widely available ingredients and requires no special equipment. If you're just starting keto, bulletproof coffee, scrambled eggs on-the-go, and the mountain man breakfast are the easiest starting points since they require almost no prep.

Thank you Sandie! Do you mean MCT oil? If so, it’s a healthy clean fat that is great for helping you get into and stay in ketosis!

Quick question, is the bulletproof coffee a substitute for breakfast? I'm not a big egg eater and having difficulty eating eggs daily.

Hi there, yes! Bulletproof coffee is great for a high fat, energy filled breakfast. It’s a popular Keto meal replacement and great for intermittent fasting because it will keep you full and energized.

I use Lankanto monk fruit/erythritol blend. Is Swerve similar?

Hi Angie, Swerve is just erythritol. What I like about this brand is the versatility. There is a powdered, brown, and granulated version. I also bake with Pyure which is a Stevia/Erythritol blend. I find my baked goods come out better with this sweetener and Swerve versus the Lankanto products. I need to do more experimenting though!

Hi Reetika, thank you! Yes, you can put blueberries in the shake, but only a few as there are 9 carbs in 1/2 cup of blueberries. Berries are the best fruits on the Keto diet as long as they are eaten in moderation. The lowest carb count fruit I have found is raspberries at 3 carbs per half cup and blackberries at 4 carbs per half cup.

Swerve is better, it doesn't have that bitter after taste. Also you can bake with it and It also comes in brown .

Absolutely, don’t get me wrong, Swerve is amazing for baking. I just like Truvia packets (and now Monk Fruit packets) because it’s quick, easy, and great for 1-2 servings. P.S. Brown Swerve is amazing too!

I use swerve products and we like it since it does not have aftertaste. I tried making bundt cake with it since it calls for a lot of sugar. It came out dense and dry so you need to adjust your liquids and fat ingredients. But it was delicious. We have swerve granulated, brown sugar . I will buy swerve powdered sugar to try it next time. Thanks
