This has been a highly popularized topic over the past couple years with the Ketogenic Diet: how do I order Starbucks on the Keto Diet without sounding like a total dork or taking up too much of the barista’s time?
Well, I’ve got you covered with the exact words you need to say in order to have that amazing keto-friendly Starbucks coffee in your hand without feeling weird. I’ve seen comments where baristas may get a little frustrated with you if you just say “I’ll have the keto version, please.” So I am here to make it easier for both you and the Starbucks barista. Make sure you say please! Bonus points if you write it down for them. Remember when ordering Keto Starbucks drinks, you will most likely have to go with the smallest size available to accurately cut down on carbs.
Down below, I’ve compiled the top 10 Keto Starbucks drinks and the exact wordage down below. I’ve also looked for drink combinations with the lowest carb count so it can be TRULY keto. I consider anything over 5 carbs a deal breaker. If you have a drink that you love and want me to come up with the lingo for you, drop a comment below. I would love to hear from you! Check them out and tell me what you think.

There are many different ways to order, but as long as you are courteous and let your barista know ahead of time about your custom order and special dietary needs, they will usually be very understanding. Remember 1) say please 2) speak slowly and clearly 3) write it down 4) get the smallest size 5) skinny doesn’t mean Keto 6) SAY PLEASE!

What’s THE FOAM you mention to put on top of the keto basic lattes?
Amber says
I *think* the almond milk at Starbucks has sugar in it. Just an FYI
Jena says
Hi, I usually get a White Mocha with Carmel drizzle added. What’s my keto lingo for this? Thank you in advance 🙂

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS, OLIVIA!! I feel like an idiot trying to do this on my own and usually just give up, never getting what I really want.
Olivia Wyles says
Awww! You are so welcome, Christie! I’m glad this helped you!!
Kassie says
Hi! Starbucks barista here, I just wanted to let you know that currently Starbucks only offers sugar free syrup in vanilla and cinnamon dolce flavors. All of the other ones have sugar.
Olivia Wyles says
Hi Kassie, thank you for calling this to my attention. At the time I published this post, there were more sugar free options, but I think Starbucks may have discontinued them. I will update my post and also include the “skinny” options.

I always order the same thing; a grande cold brew, single espresso shot, with heavy cream, double blended, served in a venti cup, I add my own Pyure sweetener (0 carb stevia sweetener) after it is blended.
The way they make it for me, my drink has 2 grams net carbs, and it is all from the heavy cream, if I have my calculations correctly and there are no hidden sugars in the cold brew or the espresso.
I have it served in the venti cup because when the ice is blended (make sure it is double blended or it will be “grainy”) it takes up more space. They measure the drink into the grande cup before blending, then dump it in the blender, so to get what I paid for, they have to serve it in a larger cup.
It’s like a keto frappuccino! One of the barista’s in Oakwood, Ohio helped me get this phrased right, thanks, Alex!

This is very helpful! Thank you, Susanne!

My go to is an Americano with heavy cream, no sweetener. So yum.
