These high protein low carb pigs in a blanket are one of my favorite things to bring to any holiday party, game day get-together, or family gathering. They're bite-sized, wrapped in bacon, brushed with a sweet glaze, and gone in minutes, every single time. Nobody asks if they're low carb, they're too busy reaching for seconds. With just 3 simple ingredients, they're easy to make but feel a little fancy, which makes them perfect appetizer for any festive spread. They are sooo good!

How to Make High Protein Low Carb Pigs In A Blanket

These are the kind of appetizers that make you look like you tried harder than you did. You can prep a whole tray in minutes, and they bake up with that golden bacon crisp that screams party food. They're easy to scale up for a crowd and don't require any last-minute mess, which makes them ideal when your kitchen is already crazy.

I've served these for Christmas Eve snacks, New Year's spreads, and even summer BBQs when I wanted something fun that wasn't loaded with carbs. They hold up well at room temp and pair with just about any dipping sauce, though honestly, they don't need one. That sweet and salty combo already does all the heavy lifting.

They also work great as a high protein snack to keep in the fridge. I've grabbed a few of these after a long day or packed them up for an easy lunchbox option. They're simple, satisfying, and always hit the spot whether you're hosting or just raiding your own fridge.

    Tips and Tricks

Cut the bacon into thin strips – Thinner bacon strips wrap more easily around the sausages and cook evenly without unraveling or staying chewy.

Use parchment paper – This keeps the bacon from sticking to the pan and makes cleanup quick. Plus, the glaze won't burn onto your baking sheet.

Brush the glaze on halfway through – If your bacon is extra fatty or thick, wait until the 10-15 minute mark to brush on the honey substitute so it doesn't slide off during baking.

I hope these high protein low carb pigs in a blanket make it to your next party tray or snack stash. They're simple, crowd-pleasing, and just plain fun to eat. Let me know if they disappear as fast at your house as they do at mine! xoxo Olivia

    • Preheat the oven to 350℉.
    • Cut wide strips of bacon into narrow strips, about ½ inch thick.

    Notes

    1. Zero Sugar Honey Substitute- Use what works best for your lifestyle. I typically bake with Monk fruit and allulose. For this recipe, I used an allulose-based zero sugar honey substitute since it behaves like regular honey without spiking blood sugar.
    2. Nutrition and carbs – Be aware that some recipe blogs omit sugar alcohols or allulose from the nutrition calculation since it does not affect blood sugar. For transparency, I have included it and calculated the net carbs below. Always use a carb counter app like Cronometer according to the brands you use in order to get accurate nutrition information.
    14.68 Total Carbs – 4.5 Fiber – 7.5 Allulose = 2.68 Net Carbs per serving.
