It’s got tender bites of chicken, broccoli, and a yummy savory sauce that hits all the right notes with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and a splash of sesame oil. Dinner is saved with this classic dish! It’s sooo good.

How to Make Easy One Pan Chicken Broccoli Stir Fry

So here's how it goes down. First, you sear the broccoli in a hot dry pan so it gets those little charred edges and a slight crunch, like the good kind of takeout broccoli. No steaming, no boiling, just straight into the pan. Then you take it out, cook the chicken right in the same pan with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper until it’s golden and cooked through. We're keeping dishes to a minimum here, and trust me, it still comes out juicy and amazing.

Once the chicken's cooked, it’s time for the magic sauce. You add in sesame oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, and ginger right into the same pan. That sauce gets bubbly and fragrant in about two minutes, and then everything goes back in. The broccoli, the chicken, all of it. Stir it around until the sauce clings to every piece. If it sticks a little, splash in more soy sauce or water and it'll loosen right up.

It's the kind of dish you can pull together on a random Tuesday night when you're over it but still need dinner to happen. It's inspired by a classic, but made easier, faster, and way less messy. No extra bowls, no extra pans, just real food in one pan that tastes really good.

Ingredients You'll Need For This Recipe

This one pan chicken broccoli stir fry keeps things simple with clean, everyday ingredients. No sugar, no cornstarch, no weird extras. Just real food, cooked in one good ol’ pan, ready in under 40 minutes.

    2. In the same pan, add olive oil and cook the chicken with a pinch of salt and pepper for 7 to 8 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
    3. Pour in the sesame oil, then add soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, and ginger. Stir and let it cook for about 2 minutes.
    4. Add the chicken and broccoli back to the pan. Stir everything together until coated in the sauce.

    Tips and Tricks

Cut everything before you start. This recipe moves fast once the pan is hot, so have your broccoli chopped and chicken cubed ahead of time.

Don't skip the dry pan broccoli step. Cooking it without oil helps it get that charred, roasty flavor without going mushy.

Use fresh garlic and ginger if you've got it. But honestly, the pre-minced and puréed stuff works just fine here. No judgment.

Want it saucier? Add a couple extra tablespoons of soy sauce or a splash of chicken broth toward the end.

Add heat if you like it spicy. A pinch of red pepper flakes or a squirt of sriracha goes great in the sauce.

Meal prep bonus. This stores well in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in a pan or microwave, no problem.

Serve it how you want. It's great on its own, but if you need to stretch it, serve over cauliflower rice, regular rice, or even shirataki noodles.

I hope this one pan chicken broccoli stir fry makes dinner a little easier and a lot more delicious. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out. I think you'll love how simple and satisfying it is. Have fun! xoxo Olivia

This chicken and broccoli is anything but boring. Juicy chunks of chicken, crisp-tender broccoli, and a sticky, garlicky sauce that tastes like takeout, but just made in one pan at home. It super quick and easy to make with simple pantry staples and just enough sesame oil and ginger to make your kitchen smell amazing. Great for meal prep, even better than the drive-thru. This is your dinner hero!

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb chicken breast cut into 1-inch cubes
    • 2 cups broccoli florets
    • 1 tablespoon ginger purée
    • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
    • 2 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 4 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • ⅓ teaspoon black pepper
Prevent your screen from going dark

    Instructions

    • Heat a dry skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and cook without oil for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly until lightly charred and slightly tender. Remove the broccoli from the pan and set aside.
    • Add the olive oil to the same skillet. Once hot, add the cubed chicken. Season with salt and pepper and sauté for 7-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
    • In the same pan, pour in the sesame oil. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, ginger purée, and minced garlic. Stir well and cook the sauce mixture for about 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
    • Return the cooked broccoli and chicken to the pan. Stir everything together thoroughly so the sauce evenly coats the ingredients.
    • Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently. If the sauce starts to stick or burn slightly, add a tablespoon of soy sauce or a couple tablespoons of water to loosen it.
