Keto Sonic Peanut Butter Bacon Shake

You have no idea how fast I ran to keto-fy this shake. When I saw the Sonic commercial for the newly release peanut butter bacon shake, I thought...what else could be more keto than the combination of bacon and peanut butter. It's a pair that goes together better than cheese and eggs!

And I knew just how I could get that vanilla ice cream flavor without the carbs: Keto Chow, my tried and true keto meal shake. In fact, they boast their shakes taste just like melted ice cream. So it was an obvious choice for the base in this recipe.

The rest was even easier. After preparing the Vanilla Keto Chow Shake, I just added the peanut butter and chopped bacon, then shook it up in a Blender Bottle, easy peasy. Of course, I wanted to be a little extra and really sell the whole idea of a keto Sonic copycat drink so I added my own homemade whipped cream that I made in an actual whipped cream dispenser that I acquired just for this recipe - and the dispenser is rainbow colored - like I said...extra!

Topped it off with more crispy bacon bits, threw in a metal straw, and the results...a rich and multi-dimensional taste experience that was as satisfying as it was unique. Not only does it taste great, but it has ⅓ your daily nutrition so it will keep you full until your next meal. You have to give this a try!

Ingredients in Keto Sonic Peanut Butter Bacon Shake

  • Vanilla Keto Chow (meal shake or protein powder of choice) - The base ingredient to accomplish that vanilla ice cream taste. Mix with water and heavy cream according to desired macros. Keto Chow is specifically formulated for the keto diet with ⅓ your daily vitamins and minerals.
  • Water - goes with the Keto Chow. Make sure it's room temperature for easy mixing.
  • Heavy Cream - My fat of choice for the keto diet, but you can also use melted butter with Keto Chow. Keep around some extra to make homemade whipped topping. Just whip to stiff peaks or use a whipped cream dispenser like I did.
  • Bacon - Make sure it's crispy and chopped into tiny bits since we are just using a blender bottle to mix it up.
  • Peanut Butter - When making anything with peanut butter, always get one with no added sugars like Crazy Richard's 100% Peanuts Peanut Butter. It only has one ingredient!
  • Optional Toppings: Whipped Cream & More Bacon Bits - A swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of bacon bits crowns this masterpiece victorious!

  1. Add water to your blender bottle. I love these glass ones they make!
  2. Add in heavy cream according to your macros, or fat of choice.
  3. Vanilla Keto Chow comes next in line.
  4. Then the peanut butter...
  5. And the bacon bits.
  6. And finally, make sure to add your blender bottle whisk ball and shake it up really well.

And here's the best part!

Pour it into your favorite glass, top it with homemade and sugar free whipped cream (just whip some heavy cream to stiff peaks) and more bacon bits. Throw a environment-friendly straw in, then enjoy this for breakfast, or literally any meal of the day since we made this with a perfectly balanced keto meal shake.

If you make it with another protein powder or meal shake of choice, I cannot vouch for its flavor since I only tested it with Keto Chow, which tastes like actual melted ice cream. However, if you don't have any on hand, experiment with your favorite vanilla keto-friendly shakes or protein powders.

Since I made it with Keto Chow, it will keep in the fridge for at least 7 days. In fact, it will taste even better the next day, and it will be even thicker like soft serve ice cream. Feel free to split this out into two shakes and enjoy later!

Ingredients

  • 1 serving or scoop Vanilla Keto Chow , meal shake or protein powder of choice
  • 8 ounces water , room temperature
  • 4 ounces heavy cream
  • 2 slices bacon , crispy and chopped
  • 2 tablespoon peanut butter , creamy and natural

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients except toppings to a large blender bottle. Adjust measurements of liquid depending on your macros and thickness preference.
  • Shake up really well.
  • Whip up extra heavy cream for topping.
  • Top with extra chopped bacon and homemade whipped cream.

Notes

1. Estimated nutrition facts are for the shake only. This can be split into two shakes if preferred.
2. I have not experimented with other meal shakes or protein powders, so I cannot vouch for the taste. However, it should accomplish a very close replica to this recipe if you don't have Keto Chow on hand.
